As Enterprise journeys deeper into the Delphic Expanse, a tip from a freighter captain leads to an inhospitable planet where a lone Xindi may hold the key Archer needs. But finding help in this region of space is not so easy—especially if you don’t keep liquid platinum on hand—and Trip and Archer find themselves in a trellium-D pickle. Thank goodness the NX-01 is now carrying a brigade of soldiers ready to extract the group of would-be explorers from whatever danger they happen into. But after a harrowing adventure, Archer finds that he’s no closer to locating the Xindi homeworld. All the crew has to show for their efforts are a debris field and a massage.

In this episode of Warp Five, hosts C Bryan Jones and Matthew Rushing continue our 20th-anniversary retrospective that takes you through all of Star Trek: Enterprise, one episode at a time. In this installment, we warp into Season 3 with “The Xindi” as we discuss how the series takes a dark turn with a new mission, sexy character tension, and an upbeat retooling of everyone's favorite theme song.
