Star Trek has always had cool alien races, both friends and foes to the Federation. After five different live-action series, and fifty years of technological advancement, the designs and looks of these aliens have changed. While some have changed more than others, none of them look exactly the same as they did when they first appeared.

In this episode of Warp Five Brandon-Shea Mutala is joined by Patrick Devlin to discuss how the designs and representations of alien races in Star Trek have changed over the last fifty years, and what we predict it will mean for Star Trek: Discovery.
