Star Trek Phase II Casts Brian Gross as Captain Kirk by Trek fm

Inertial dampers were off on the set of the popular fan series Star Trek Phase II this week as one Kirk bounced out of the captain’s chair and another bounced in. Executive Producer James Cawley, who has split his time between playing the role of Kirk and producing past episodes, has decided to focus his energies on production. In doing so he has cast veteran actor Brian Gross in the iconic role.

The 33-year-old Gross has appeared in guest spots and recurring roles on Cold Case, CSI: New York, NCIS: Los Angeles, Psych, and Saving Grace.

Phase II is currently filming the episode “Bread and Savagery,” a sequel to the original Star Trek episode “Bread and Circuses,” which will be Gross’s first appearance as James Tiberius Kirk.

Star Trek New Voyages Take Us On a Tour of 1701 Pennsylvania Avenue by Trek fm

Written and directed by Pony R. Horton and starring Ralph M. Miller as Dick, “1701 Pennsylvania Avenue” combines Watergate-era political intrigue with… Klingons! Oh… and maybe a tribble of two in the Oval Office.

Star Trek Phase II Delivers the Original Concept for "The Child" by Trek fm

Fans of both The Original Series and The Next Generation will be interested in the latest from Star Trek Phase II, which has joined forces with with writer Jon Povill to film the original concept for “The Child.” A script that was developed for the terminated Phase II series in the late 1970s, “The Child” was later adapted as the second-season premiere of The Next Generation.

The Phase II production of “The Child” delivers Povill’s original vision for the story. Povill also directs this version and special effects are provided by Tobias Richter, marking the first German-American co-production for Phase II.
