"Khan Noonien Singh is the most dangerous adversary the Enterprise ever faced. He is brilliant, ruthless and he will not hesitate to kill every single one of you." Those are the words Ambassador Spock used to describe Star Trek's most iconic villain, and in this episode of Standard Orbit our...Khanversation revolves around who makes a better Khan, Montalban or Cumberbatch? We're going to look at the Khans from the perspective of character, screen presence, passion, and villainy. A Khanparison if you will.
The Kelvin Timeline did not branch off from the Prime Timeline until 2233, so the Khan we meet in Into Darkness is truly the same Khan we meet in Space Seed. However, the circumstances surrounding their revivals are very different, which inform the character and his actions moving forward in both timelines. We delve into the drives and motivations of each, which Khan was a "greater" villain, the screen presence of both of the incredible actors who portrayed him. And it wouldn't be an episode of Standard Orbit without a few tangents for good measure.
