Titled Sketch Project Premieres "Space Idiots" by Trek fm

Last December the comedy troupe Titled Sketch Project got us all into the holiday mood with their take on Patrick Stewart’s one-man show A Christmas Carol, in which Dan Oster put his spin on Sir Patrick. Now TSP is taking on the insane plot lines of many Star Trek away missions in the first episode of their new series Space Idiots.

When the landing party arrives on a planet once inhabited by beings with amazing mental powers, unexpected things are revealed.

Titled Sketch Project is comprised of veteran performers from MADtv, Boom Chicago, and The Groundlings. In addition to their videos productions they also perform live shows at 9 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month at the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica.

Animated Parody "Stalled Trek" Brings You a New Take on "Amok Time" by Trek fm

If you like your Star Trek with a little sense of humor, you’ll love the latest project from Mark Largent.

Titled “Stalled Trek,” the project is a parody of the Original Series that uses 3-D animation to create a cast of felt puppets that go where no puppets have gone before.

The first episode, “Amutt Time,” is a parody of the classic episode “Amok Time” and will run approximately 15 minutes. It’s the realization a long-time dream for Largent.

Work on the first episode is almost complete, with around five minutes of animation remaining to be done. Largent plans to release the parity in April and to create a DVD that will be available at conventions in May.

To fund the project a Kickstarter page has been set up with the goal of raising $600 to produce the DVDs and distribute the show. As of the time of writing the project already has 56 backers who have pledged $1,296—more than double the original goal.

You can see the first three minutes of “Amutt Time” in the YouTube video above, which also serves as a preview of Largent’s new program “The Paunk! Show.”

If you would like to back the project or find out more information you can find the Kickstarter page here.

Worf Gets Shot Down… Over and Over and Over Again by Trek fm

Ever notice how no one listens to Worf? Picard is a captain who tends to value the opinions and recommendations of his crew; but when it comes to Worf it’s always “no, no, no.”

Think we’re kidding? Take a look at this 15-minute video compilation by YouTube user tarnationsauce2. It’s nothing but clips of Worf being rejected by everyone from Picard to K’Ehleyr. The video has been around for quite a while and was just brought to our attention by Karan Bhatt, but if you’ve yet to see you must join in as we all turn to Worf. And in unison we say… “Denied!”

USS Enterprise Destroys the Death Star by Trek fm

Forget Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. The Millennium Falcon may have made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs, but its arrival at the Death Star was cutting it a bit too close. Kirk and Spock couldn’t risk letting the battle station become fully operational so they took matters into their own hands.

What exactly happened? Just watch this fantastic mashup by Ergo Pictures to find out. It’s Trek Wars! And remember: this takes place in an alternate timeline.
