Trek Nation Special Screening at San Diego Comic-Con and DVD Release Info by Trek fm

Roddenberry Entertainment has announced that it will be bringing its Saturn Award-nominated film, Trek Nation, to San Diego’s Birch North Park Theatre on July 12 at 7 p.m. This special event will kick off Comic-Con weekend, and the 90-minute film will be followed by an intimate question and answer session with Trek Nation Executive Producer Rod Roddenberry.

There is no cost for the event, but only a limited number of tickets are available to those who RSVP. To secure your spot visit the Trek Nation website at treknationmovie.com and click the “special screening sign-up” on the front page. Confirmation of each RSVP will guarantee entrance into the theater for the movie showing and Q & A session.

In addition, Trek Nation will be coming to DVD in autumn. While this is still quite a few months away, you can get your hands on it in advance exclusively at the Roddenberry Comic-Con booth and on-site at the Birch North Park Theatre at the July 12th event. Plus, Rod will be available to sign purchased DVDs after the Q&A session during a meet-and-greet at West Coast Tavern.

More than 14,000 people have already signed up for information over the past few weeks as teasers have circulated according to Rob Nathan, marketing director for 10 Media. So visit startreklondon.com for more information on how to get your hands on what is sure to be one of the hottest tickets this autumn.

How to Beam Yourself Into the Calgary Expo by Trek fm

Canada has its fair share of Trek—William Shatner and the City of Vulcan to name just two of the country’s connections. Now Star Trek fans in Calgary can be the first to beam themselves up to the 24th Century with a new collaboration between the City of Vulcan and the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo.

It’s all thanks to some ingenious Augmented Reality technology that combines the Vulcan Tourism Transporter App for iPhone and iPad with specially designed bus shelters. It’s part of the TNG 25th Anniversary celebration that will see the nine principal cast members reunited at the Calgary Expo April 27-29.

Following the Expo, the technology will be over permanently to the City of Vulcan, Alberta, and will be available for fans at Spock Days in June. Visit calgaryexpo.com for more details about the TNG reunion, and watch the full demonstration video below.
