When Star Trek first went into production it wasn't Captain James Kirk in the center seat of the USS Enterprise, it was Captain Christopher Pike. First brought to life by actor Jeffrey Hunter, Pike went on to be portrayed by three other actors and has carved out his own niche in the mythos.
