If you like your Star Trek with a little sense of humor, you’ll love the latest project from Mark Largent.
Titled “Stalled Trek,” the project is a parody of the Original Series that uses 3-D animation to create a cast of felt puppets that go where no puppets have gone before.
The first episode, “Amutt Time,” is a parody of the classic episode “Amok Time” and will run approximately 15 minutes. It’s the realization a long-time dream for Largent.
Work on the first episode is almost complete, with around five minutes of animation remaining to be done. Largent plans to release the parity in April and to create a DVD that will be available at conventions in May.
To fund the project a Kickstarter page has been set up with the goal of raising $600 to produce the DVDs and distribute the show. As of the time of writing the project already has 56 backers who have pledged $1,296—more than double the original goal.
You can see the first three minutes of “Amutt Time” in the YouTube video above, which also serves as a preview of Largent’s new program “The Paunk! Show.”
