Connor Trinneer Recalls His Time on Enterprise (And Does a Pirate Imitation)

The sixth Star Trek series, Enterprise, may have been cancelled before its time, but it still lives on in the hearts and minds of many fans, some of whom are finding the show for the first time and discovering that there’s more “Trek” there than they may have expected. Not the least of which was the technobabble, which is par for the course for any Trek series. And almost no one was better at delivering the technobabble than Connor Trinneer. While Trinneer himself was born in Washington State, his character of Charles ‘Trip’ Tucker III spoke with a comforting Southern drawl, extending the already diverse Enterprise crew.

StarTrek.com recently sat down with Trinneer to ask him about his time on Enterprise and beyond. He spoke revealingly about his desires to direct on the show, which were shot down by the show’s producers, as well as several story ideas he was pitched which were rejected. But Trinneer says that his time on Enterprise, as well as his short stint on Stargate: Atlantis was “the most satisfying experience” so far in his career.

Read the whole interview at StarTrek.com for even more insights—including why Trinneer once imitated a pirate on the set, and why it ended up in the final cut.
